Zakiya McKenzie is a writer based in Bristol and a PhD candidate with the Caribbean Literary Heritage project at the University of Exeter writing about the Black alternative press in post-World War Britain. In 2019, Zakiya was writer-in-residence for Forestry England. She works with the Black and Green Project at Ujima 98 FM Bristol.
