Isabella's Storytelling Bicycle - Totnes Library
Ting-a-ling-a-ling, my blossoms! Isabella loves to share stories from her incredible bicycling adventures in the wilds of the world. She has outwitted mountain trolls, sung opera with donkeys and ridden a pixy horse across Dartmoor. When the doors of Isabella’s theatre on the back of her bicycle open wide she will whisk you away to another world.
Isabella Necessity travels around telling traditional tales from Britain and around the world with the help of Dilys, her unique Story Bicycle and faithful companion. With engaging storytelling, gorgeous hand-made illustrations and delightful puppets Isabella’s charming shows are fun for all ages.
The Story Bicycle is inspired by Japanese visual storytelling called kamishibai (paper theatre). Stories are told by revealing illustrations and Isabella includes puppets. She is one of a handful of people telling kamishibai stories with a bicycle in the UK.
