Letters to a Stranger - Chagford

Letters to a Stranger
Join Kerrie Seymour for a relaxed workshop, where you’ll meet and make new connections whilst creating together. You will be invited to consider some imagery from a favourite book, a book character, a story quest or location. Experimenting with collage, drawing and printing techniques and with a range of materials and resources available, you will be guided to create your own 'letter to a stranger', a uniquely decorated letter containing original artwork and a positive message.
Using origami paper folding techniques you will learn how to transform your letter into a small envelop. You will be invited to consider where in the library they would like their letter to be discovered, perhaps in a book they have read and enjoyed, a book they have not yet read but hope to or a book they would recommend.
Kerrie creates a vibrant space for people to meet, share and make work together. ‘Letter to a stranger’ is a project which aims to break down social barriers and reduce loneliness and isolation by increasing new connections between people and nurturing a sense of community and belonging.
