Live music

A7307942

Haytor 9:30 - 10:30

Combining high energy, eccentric performances with soaring melodic vocals, and lively arrangements, Haytor produces their own blend of charismatic indie rock. The band is made up of vocalist Austin Robison and brother Cameron Robison on bass, along with guitarist Jonny Lewis and drummer Cal Verney. Based in Devon, Haytor pull together introspective cynical lyrics with dynamic driven indie rock, complete with jangly guitar and anthem choruses.

Lily

Sounds Like Lily 8:00 - 9:00

Blending jazz and neo-soul into reflective songs with catchy grooves and melodious instrumentation, Totnes-based vocalist Lily Mackay and guitarist Rowland O’Connor are here to bring a performance worth watching. With their debut EP ‘Glad I Met Ya’ out now on all streaming platforms, this is a budding duo to watch.

Silent Disco with Phonic FM DJs

Experimental moving image and film programme screening during the Silent Disco, featuring fresh and freaky glitches, introspective pensive moments and shuddering nonsense. See on you on the dancefloor!

Warning - flashing images and frenetic strobing effects.

Workshops

Letterpress Workshop with Double Elephant Print Workshop 7:30 - 10:30

Come and experiment with Double Elephant's vintage wooden type collection. Print an Art Week Exeter inspired Poster on a recycled old map and embellish it with your own text. A great introduction to this popular form of printmaking - with George Barron.

Love Cuts Poetry collage workshop 7:30 - 8:45 with reading at 9:00

Love Cuts is a chance to get creative by being just a bit destructive. We’ll be cutting up books*, stirring up words, and scraping together our very own poems. This is an open workshop led by spoken-word artist Chris White. Drop in to create some mixed-up metaphors. Have a stab at sticking together some silly, subversive words. Or simply let off some steam by taking a pair of scissors to your most loathed novel. Anyone can give it a go! The workshop finishes with a reading of the night’s work and some of his own hilarious poetry by Edward Tripp, the surreal stand-up poet and current Bard of Exeter. He’ll be performing some of the work created throughout the night, as well as some of his own hilarious poetry.

Origami Workshop with Beatrice Corsetti 7:30 - 9:30

Old road maps cut to size will be made available to create animals and creatures. The workshop is suitable for everyone and will allow you to train your creativity and learn the Japanese art of paper folding. Origami is believed to help to reduce stress, improve hand-eye coordination, boost creativity, and enhance patience and persistence.

Annoying Noises in Public Places with Alfresco Skronk Squadron

Live improvised noise art installation. Microphones and a hydrophone capture sounds of the outside world and familiar things, feeding back within the din of unreliable devices.

---

FabLab Exeter 3D Design and Printing Demonstrations

Digital Making Tutor Marcus Brown will be running three vinyl-cutting demonstrations. See how designs are created and cut using the FabLab equipment so they can be used for signs, window decor, car or van decor and even heat-pressing onto garments. No booking required on the night - simply turn up at one of the three times displayed outside the FabLab.

---

Bar Nova

As always, the wonderful Bar Nova will be providing a curated selection of drinks and snacks throughout the evening.
