Swinging Christmas with the Exeter Jazz Orchestra! - Exeter Library

Swing into Christmas with a night of jazz classics, golden age groovers and cool carols, as the Exeter Jazz Orchestra make their triumphant, trumpeting return to Exeter Library with another Swingin' show, following a sell-out performabce last year! Come & join in with a Christmassy tradition that will one day rival paper hats and naff office parties.

About the band
Founded in 2021 to beat the pandemic blues, this Big Band has gone from 0-60 in no time at all. You may have already caught them filling the high-street with joyful jazz at the Jubilee or playing around in the park at the Respect Festival.

About the music
Expect a full line up of some of Exeter and Devon’s premier musicians, under the direction of jazz saxophonist Will Paley. From Count Basie and Glenn Miller through to the more modern sounds of Buddy Rich and Gordon Goodwin (and with just about everything else in between!) Plus some festive cheer, and Christmas classics with a twist. You’re sure to hear something that gets you tapping your toes. Come along, bop the night away, beat those winter blues and catch EJO at their jazzy, snazzy best.

12 drummers drumming, 11 pipers piping , and one incredible Christmassy show, to melt your cockles. Doors from 19:30 - the band kicks off at 20:00.
There will be pop-up bar serving soft drinks and booze, plus some free mince pies.

Tickets for this performance are Pay What You Can Afford, on a sliding scale from £6 - £12. This helps ensure the gig is accessible for more people, and all profits made will go back into both EJO and Libraries Unlimited, a registered charity. For more info visit Exeter Library or telephone 01392 407027.
