Charlotte was runner-up for Zakiya McKenzie's masterclass 'Nature and Uncertainty' with ‘Loss of Limb’

"I create written work in many forms including; poetry, prose and scripts. I studied and obtained a Merit in Art and Design at Plymouth College of Art. My passions are; writing, art, acting, and set design. I also write theatre reviews and am exploring travel writing. Recently I have performed and created work for productions at the Barbican Theatre Plymouth and Theatre Royal Plymouth. I am currently a Co-Designer for the Effervescent - Lonely not alone campaign.

I was excited by this competition as it gave me the flexibility to choose what I wanted to write about. I felt the tasks you were given in different areas were fun and engaging. The writers gave you tasks and inspiration from the very beginning. 

I wrote ‘Loss of limb’ during a time when my mental health was at its worst and most debilitating. By sharing I hope other people who are struggling will feel less alone. "
