Everyone can make great art with charcoal - Barnstaple
Charcoal is a fantastic and versatile art making medium. It’s the perfect medium to start exploring drawing as a hobby whilst being capable of producing incredibly impressive, professional level, works of art.
Your guide will be Exeter based artist Richard Rochester.
Whether you're completely new to drawing or an experienced artist, this workshop will provide you with the opportunity to push charcoal to its limits. You will receive a full explanation and demonstration of how to use the medium and an introduction to some of the tools and equipment available to help you get the most out of it. You will then have a chance to experiment with some of these techniques before working up some drawings.
You don’t need to bring anything; everything will be provided for you, including a stack of images from which to choose something to copy, although you may prefer to bring your own black and white image (such as a picture of your pet) - or to draw from life.
Book via Libraries Unlimited Events | Eventbrite, by telephone 01271318780 or in person at Barnstaple Library (no booking fee).
