Flower Power Day @ Barnstaple Library: Floral block printing

Come and create a block print inspired by your favourite flowers and some mini Barnstaple motifs.
Annabel Hill is a textile and print designer who started her teaching studio eight years ago. She loves patterns in nature such as seed and flower heads, rockpools and reflections, and is fascinating by old-fashioned print techniques. Annabel’s technique involves carving floral blocks to make repeat patterns.
You’ll learn how to transfer your drawings to a lino block and then repeat the pattern across a tea towel border or rotate a print onto a tote bag. For those unsure of drawing, templates will be provided. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those who’ve worked with lino block printing before. You take away some cotton samples, your very own lino block and a tote bag or tea towel.
Book through Eventbrite, by telephone 01271318780 or in person at Barnstaple Library.
