An award winning feature documentary produced, directed, filmed & edited by Dylan Howitt. Foraged, spun, woven & sewn by Allan Brown. A 'modern day fairytale & hymn to the healing power of nature & slow craft 'Textile artist Allan Brown spends 7 years making a dress by hand just from the fibre of foraged stinging nettles. This is 'Hedgerow Couture', the greenest of slow fashion & also his medicine. It's how he survives the death of his wife & finds a beautiful way to honour her.
Special guest Catherine West, founder & director of Significent Seams CIC will be joining us to chat about the film & her work with textiles. She'll have examples of eco dyed & nettle woven fabric along with her spinning wheel to have a go on.
Doors open at 1.30, film approx 1 hour + informal discussion until 3.30pm
