EnchanTales

EnchanTales was a community art project designed by Bristol-based artist Emma Hughes as part of the Evolve programme. Using projection mapping software and conductive ink technology, EnchanTales breathes life into stories and fairytales through the touch of hand on paper; screen-less sorcery!
EnchanTales was installed in Exeter Library as part of activities around the Summer Reading Challenge in 2019, bringing to life children’s space themed stories and adventures, thanks to help from young people at Creative Hub, Knowle West Media Centre.
EnchanTales was originally installed in Bideford and Barnstaple libraries, bringing to life the community’s favourite childhood stories. The magical animations that appeared within the empty picture frames were created by young people in Bideford and Barnstaple, whose creativity and talent has brought these well-loved tales to life!
