Your Library On The High Street
Your Library On The High Street grew out of an artist-in-residence programme with sculptor, James Lake.
While providing a workshop space for James Lake while he constructed a giant reading tree for Barnstaple Library, the old GAP shop on Exeter High Street became an interactive public space hosting a variety of drop-in workshops and exhibitions as well as a pop-up high street library from which passers-by were invited to browse and borrow books.
A rolling programme of events included:
Meet the artist-in-residence; craft and zine workshops; VR workshops with Willmot Dixon; storytelling; drop-In Business and IP Centre sessions; exhibitions from local charities and partner organisations, including Princesshay’s We Can Do More sustainability campaign.
