Chloe Reynolds

Cultural Developer

Chloe spends most of the week working as First Assistant at Sidmouth Library and one day a week working as a Cultural Developer to support the Evolve programme.

Chloe enjoys working on the Evolve programme and particularly sharing ideas with enthusiastic colleagues and discussing inspiring artistic practices and cultural experiences that might be suitable in libraries.

Chloe’s area of interest has largely focused on the potential of gaming in libraries. Chloe has spent time exploring the resources offered by the library gaming community and researching games with a strong narrative or artistic value. She is particularly excited about a project called Litcraft that invites children to engage with literary worlds through Minecraft by reading and discussing a book, then using iPads to visit that book’s world in Minecraft to complete tasks. She’s also intrigued by the links between creative writing and “choose-your-own-adventure” style games and hopes to develop this more in the future.
