Linocut Workshop with Sarah Rigler

Create your own greetings cards: an introduction to basic linocut tools and printing techniques.

Each participant will learn how to produce a simple greetings card design using an A6 lino plate. This can be a monochrome design to be printed in a selection of different colours for the final prints or (where the design is simple) a 2-plate design to produce a run of bi-colour prints. Double size paper will be available for folding into cards if desired.

All materials and equipment for making the greetings card designs (except envelopes) will be provided.

Participants are asked to bring:

• a folder or box (ideally A4 size) to carry wet prints home, though newsprint will be provided for separating them.
• optional: some image ideas for adapting. There will, however, be some simple designs to copy or be inspired by.
