Ingrid Pollard: Three Drops of Blood
A programme of events focused on the art work of Ingrid Pollard, Turner Nominee (2022). This project has been devised and produced by talking on corners, including a new commission of work to be exhibited at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG)
The new work has been created in response to Ingrid's research in the UK including Devon. Pollard has honed in on botanical gardens and local lace-making as well as the unique historical collections of books at the Devon and Exeter Institution (DEI). Drawing out her interests in classification, knowledge, leisure, trade and money, these themes can be unfolded far beyond Devon, into conversations spanning generations and geographies In addition to the THG and DEI, a series of engagement events have been created by the project partners, including Natural England, Arts & Culture Department at the University of Exeter, South Devon College and University of Plymouth.
